Personal trainer
In 2010, Rory hired Steve McGregor to improve his fitness and take the final step toward golf fame. Steve initially focused on closing the gap between his strong right flank and his weaker left flank. Therefore, his training was dominated by a lot of one-armed dumbbells.
Particular attention was also paid to making the lower body stronger, which helped him inject explosive power into his swings. It also made him more stable while hitting the balls over long distances. He also worked on his core for the same goal. You can watch his example workout in the video below, made in collaboration with Nike.
Steve also got him to flip his unhealthy eating habits for more disciplined eating habits. He was asked to eat lots of chicken and broccoli to fuel his weight loss program, and he went from 22 percent to 16 percent body fat.
